On Saturday, April 27th, Sassafras Audubon Society held its annual Spring Feeder Cleaning. It was a great day for cleaning feeders, with clouds keeping the day from getting too hot. A great group of volunteers cleaned over a hundred feeders dropped off by more than 40 people from the community, and raised more than $700 to support out education and conservation projects. We thank everyone that brought their feeders and donated, the volunteers that cleaned feeders, Bloomington Hardware for providing the location and infrastructure, and Aver’s Pizza for providing two large pizzas for the volunteers.
