Paynetown SRA bird walk w/ Lisa Podulka

  • 4850 S. State Highway 446 Bloomington, IN, 47401 United States (map)

Please join SAS for a free June breeding birds walk with Lisa Podulka from IndiGo Birding at 8 a.m., June 26, at Paynetown SRA on Lake Monroe. Early start time to maximize bird sightings and vocalizations and beat the heat; binoculars provided or bring your own. We look forward to seeing our wonderful breeding birds, exploring the back trails to the lakeshore, birding by ear, and id'ing native plants with you. Meet at the parking lot across from the campground. Please bring a mask to keep all birders comfortable; we anticipate they will not be necessary. [Note that there is a $7 fee to enter at the gate if you don't have a yearly state park pass, which is highly recommended! Fifty dollars gets you year round entry and, most important, supports our local public lands. The pass is twenty-five dollars for birders 65 and older.] To register for the walk, please email president@sassafrasaudubon.org.

Highlight of a scouting walk: A Kentucky Warbler family carrying food for chicks!
