Skilled birder and SAS Board member Bob Watson will be leading a Saturday morning bird walk on November 20th at Fairfax SRA from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Fall is a great time to see water-loving birds like eagles, ducks, loons, and gulls, but it's also a good time to see our resident woodpeckers and other birds without a ton of leaves in the way. Please dress a bit more warmly than you think you need--we'll be stopping to see birds, and it can get cold when you're not moving. We will meet at the beach parking lot to the left as you come in and be ready to explore the shoreline, peninsula, and nearby woods. Birders of all levels are welcome and binoculars will be provided if you need them. The walk is free, and there will be no entrance fee to the park. Please register in advance at president@sassafrasaudubon.org.
